April 10, 2026
An image of the moon fully eclipsing the sun taken from the Artemis II mission.

Beautiful images from the recent NASA Artemis II mission; this is a favourite.

This year has felt like running to catch up for most of the year with one thing or another. The grass stopped growing through the heatwaves, and it's like it's been catching up with a vengeance since the rain came back. The garden's looking decidedly shaggy as we go into autumn and there's still a to-do list a mile long, but I have managed to get some seeds in the ground and scarify an area of the lawn for some wildflowers. I've been out picking apples with a pissed hornet bimbling around somewhere in the background and Pippin exchanging barks with a dog four fields away. A good glimpse of the milky way last night. Night, a big moon, mist creeping up the valley. Pip is here to debunk the myth that dogs can't look up. When you're obsessed with squirrels, it's an imperative. The bliss of a cool walk in the Tamar Valley today. Bonus game: spot the small dog.
